Global Scholars Foundations (GSF) is a language and culture immersion program that incorporates college readiness, financial literacy and culture and language into a three phase 18-month program.

GSF is free for District Public and Public Charter high school students. During the months of June, July, and August, students are paid through the SYEP (Summer Youth Employment Program).

GSF students must be a DC Public or Public Charter school student in grades 9-12 and must be at least 14 years of age and no older than 18 years of age to join. Students must submit a completed application and follow up interview.

Students will gain fluency in a foreign language and knowledge about foreign countries, gain knowledge in financial literacy and develop skills to prepare them for higher education.

GSF is a 3 phase program starting with a 6-week leadership academy in phase 1. In phase 2 language and culture twice a month on Saturday. In phase 3 students travel to a foreign country to apply their language and culture training.
